Westin Hotels to reach growth milestone in 2013 with opening of 200th hotel

STAMFORD, Conn. – February 04, 2013– Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) today announced that its Westin brand expects to open its 200th hotel in 2013, driven by robust international demand and the phenomenal success of the brand’s distinct well-being positioning.

Westin will open 11 new hotels this year, the vast majority outside the United States in fast-growing markets including China, India, Singapore and Panama.

3pm: Chasing Ice, a stunningly beautiful documentary about climate change, was a sell-out at the 2012 Bermuda Docs Film Festival. The winner of 23 festival awards, Jeff Orlowski's film follows National Geographic photographer James Balog - once a climate-change skeptic - as he brings to life the Extreme Ice Survey (EIS), a massive photography project utilising 30 cameras across three continents to gather visual evidence of the Earth's melting glaciers.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts to enter the Philippines with the Westin Manila Bayshore and Sheraton Manila Hotel

Starwood Continues its Growth Trajectory in Asia Pacific with Plans to Open The Westin Manila Bayshore and Sheraton Manila Hotel, Part of Two Separate Resorts World Integrated Entertainment Complexes in Manila, in Mid-2016 and Early 2017

MANILA, Philippines Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) has announced plans to introduce its two largest brands – Westin and Sheraton – to two new multi-billion dollar integrated entertainment complexes in Manila, the bustling capital of the Philippines.

Starwood will manage The Westin Manila Bayshore, scheduled to open in mid-2016 as part of the Resorts World Bayshore in the Entertainment City development in Parañaque,; and Sheraton Manila Hotel in the Resorts World Manila development located in Newport City, Pasay. The Sheraton Manila Hotel is slated for opening in early 2017.

Condé Nast traveller survey puts entire Pacific Northwest Region on the podium

Reader's Choice Awards All Seven Fairmont Properties in Pacific Northwest
Vancouver, British Columbia - Condé Nast Traveler magazine in its annual Readers' Choice Awards survey has named 31 Fairmont hotels and resorts across the globe as among the world's best, and recognizing all seven properties in the Pacific Northwest.

In its 25th year of honoring hospitality excellence, the poll publishes the crème de la crème of travel and this survey had a record response of 46,476 ballots.  

The luxury hotel brand prevailed in Canada with 14 properties recognized, and all seven properties in the Pacific Northwest region were touted as being among the best in the world.
